Fun with Fibonacci

April 30th, 2008

LSD is optional.

I’m pretty late to the party for this particular one but I love stuff like this.

Isn’t that crazy? I can’t imagine the work that went into making it or why they would even do it but just, wow.

(Ok so maybe it’s not as freaky as this:

but still.)

Watching the TOOL video reminded me of this scene from the movie “Pi”:

See if all math was as interesting as this, maybe I would be more open to it instead of running away from it like a frightened child. The only thing it seems good for these days is to tell me how much money I don’t have.

But I digress. Back to Pi.

(mmmmm. Pie.)

If you haven’t seen it, go see it. It’s a great movie. While you do that, maybe I’ll find some time to finally watch “Once”.

Iron Mic Monday – The Battle cont.

April 28th, 2008

Ugh. Is this what it’s come to?

Oh wow. Ok um… let’s see…

What up peeps, it’s the unstoppable Sagredo (comma John)
Back from apparently the beauty salon
The mani, the pedi, it’s all so I can relax
After seeing Jon getting a Brazilian Wax.

The white boy from Montana is asking to battle
Me – the whitest mexican this side of Seattle.
But at least I know where my race is at
Jon once actually wished he was black!

But it’s cool, cause we’ve passed all that
This battle will forever be known as “wiggity-wack”
But one thing’s for sure, one thing we can say
It got us two posts for Friday and Music Monday.

Ugh. I feel dirty. Chuck D is rolling in his grave.

And now here’s a battle that might possibly be worse – and infinitely better – than ours:

Iron Mic Friday!

April 25th, 2008

battle.jpg

It’s on, people! Til the break of dawn! In this first edition of Iron Mic Friday I am going to call out Mr. John Sagredo, who is out today running errands! Will he be man enough to battle the master? Let’s get this party started! Ch-ch-check it out…

Yo! It’s the J to the O to the N ends with Harmon
My skills on the mic are really quite alarmin’
I might be white and come from Montana
But my rhymes are still funkier than Bret Michaels’ bandana

I don’t just reign, I’m like a flash flood
I mash other rappers like Idaho spuds
I’ll cook you, Sagredo, like a Krispy Kreme
Gary Cherone used to sing in Extreme

I hate to trouble you today, Johnny John
Out doing your nails at the beauty salon
But if you don’t step up and feel my pain
I’ll tell everyone you cried at Becoming Jane

I’m the best, man…I did it…

TV on the Edge of Memory

April 24th, 2008

You can rest your head on my shoulder…

I’ve seen a lot of TV in my time. Possibly far more than I should’ve but that’s neither here nor there. The fact remains, every where I go, I usually leave an ass-groove in my wake (of course that could be because of my weight but today’s not Fatty-fat-fat-fat Friday, it’s TV Thursday, silly!). As I hurtle ever faster toward ages I never thought I would get to (nor think of as “not that old”) I’m finding myself reminded of things that were once on the forefront of my mind (or at the very least, the upper middle half) and have since been pushed back to the recesses — so far that sometimes I wonder if they actually existed or if I just dreamed it all because often enough, it seems to weird to be real. Well, thankfully, because of sites like YouTube and really, the entire internet itself, things of that nature will live on just waiting for me to google them back into existence — I just hope that I can remember what it is I almost forgot.

This week: Love American Style.

Does anyone out there remember this show? I remember LOVING this show but I’m not sure why. I’m sure the jokes and subject matter were over my head but upon further inspection (and jumping into my younger self) I would have to say that it’s the theme song (gloriously cheesy catchiness — it will be in your head for the rest of the day) and the fireworks during the title sequence. Isn’t it funny how we used to passionately love things for the simplest things? Do you still? Let me know in the comments.

Here’s your fun fact for the day: Happy Days’ pilot was one of the episodes of Love, American Style. It’s true!

More TV on the Edge of Memory to come. Share your thoughts in the comments.
