Stop the Madness!
It seems like over the past 6 or so years we have just been inundated with movies based on comics. Spider-Man, Superman, Fantastic Four, X-Men…the list goes on and on. This summer alone we have Iron Man, (another) Incredible Hulk, The Dark Knight, and (another) Punisher. But now it seems as if Hollywood has gone too far! The One-Hundred has obtained this exclusive clip of Cathy: The Movie – seriously, has it come to this? Are we all out of superheroes? And to make matters worse, it was written and directed by Spike Lee! ACK! Well, let’s just roll the clip…
Shame on you, Hollywood. Shame…On…You…
“F” is for Foxes (Boro and Trot, respectively)

For today’s Music Monday, I thought I would share with you some of the music that’s been jamming up my ipod recently with contstant replays.
First up, The Foxboro Hot Tubs and Stop, Drop, and Roll.
Word has it that these guys are just Green Day is disguise (and I’m sure it’s most likely true as it sounds just like them but yet strangely, it doesn’t sound like them at all as well… go fig.) and so typically, this stuff rocks. They’ve made an album that harkens back to the garage rock days of the sixties and it sounds like they had a blast doing it. All we get to do is listen and enjoy. I’ve chosen two of the standouts for me “Mother Mary” and “Red Tide”. The former boasting some really catchy music and nice harmonies from the fellas and that latter… this might possibly be the first song that I’ve ever heard that deals with that special time of month… but maybe I’m just reading too much into it.

And from the “Wow, did I show up to this party late!” files, Wilco’s Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. Not sure I can add anything that hasn’t already been said (and said better no doubt) but I can offer this: If you haven’t heard this, go out and do so. Please be aware, you will be physically unable to listen to anything else for at least a week. It’s that good. The two songs I’ve chosen are “I am trying to break your heart” — it’s long and kind of crazy toward the end but it is worth it. Possibly my favorite song on the album — if it weren’t for the next song “Jesus, Etc.” SO. GOOD.

Cities at Night
I don’t know if this was on TV or meant for TV but it should be on TV as it’s pretty darn amazing as well as highly effective in making you feel simultaneously part of something really big and feeling really small at the same time.
I know it’s ten minutes long but please take some time to watch it, I think it’s worth it. It reminds me of the guy that used to do a show on astronomy but I can’t remember his name – the only thing I remember was he usually wore what was akin to a members only jacket and he was green screened so that it appeared that he was walking in space. I know Matt knows who I’m talking about so — Matt, if you’re reading this, please tell me who it is in the comments!
