Why can’t MTV be like this?
Remember when MTV was cool?* What happened? It used to be where we looked to see what bands we should be listening to or what the latest advances were being made in the field of kick ass music video imagery (it was hard to move beyond the “looking through the horizontal blinds/flying birds/smoke everywhere” era but pass it they did.). But now? I think you’d be hard pressed to find actual MUSIC on this so called Music Television. I think they can save it though. They just need to ditch everything that they are doing now and start playing videos like the following.

I think it’s right around “I fought a barber man” when I just lose it. A close second is “Who put that goat in there?”. It would be irresponsible of me to not point you to the actual lyrics and the actual translation of said lyrics but they kind of suck the fun out of it (it is kind of interesting though). So let’s just say that my looney bun is fine and move along.

I think my favorite is Merman at the piano. Classic.
I have one more and I think it’s my favorite (and possibly inspired the above, but did it better) and it’s fantastic. Although I’m not sure I like what it’s alluding to…

So there it is. My contribution to the movement (which may or may not actually be real) to get them back on the right track.
So, MTV? I want MY MTV, please.
*If you think that MTV is cool now and always has been, you are either too young and don’t know better or dumb. But either way, you’re wrong. WRONG. WRONG. WRONG!
